Connect five or more stones to win
Muckle Omok uses a 15×15 board. Connect at least five stones of your color horizontally, vertically, or along either diagonal to win. An overline of six or more also wins. These are freestyle rules: restrictions such as double-three are not applied.
If you normally play Renju, check this difference before starting. There is no compulsory center opening. Playing near the center is a possible strategic choice, rather than a required first move.
What to look for during computer practice
Computer practice offers difficulty levels one through five. Begin at a lower level and look for your opponent’s runs of three and four before following your own attack. Missing an open four can leave no chance to defend on the next turn.
For three horizontal stones, check whether both ends are open, then inspect vertical and diagonal threats around the same area. Counting along just one direction can hide a winning line elsewhere. Do not assume a practice win is added to the online ranking.
Start a private match with a friend
Online play requires signing in with a Muckle account. This is separate from practicing against the computer. Create a private room and share the host’s display name and PIN with your friend. A room code can help compare room details, but there is no separate code-entry field.
- Sign in with your Muckle account from the online play screen.
- Create a private room and choose a four-digit PIN. Share it privately with your friend.
- Your friend opens the private-room tab, enters the PIN, checks the host’s name in the room list, and joins that room.
- Check the opponent label and whose turn it is before placing a stone. Watch the remaining time: exceeding the online turn limit loses the match on timeout. Keep the PIN out of public posts and screenshots.
A public-room opponent is not always a person
A computer can join a public room after a waiting period. The interface distinguishes an automated opponent from a human opponent. Being connected to online play does not by itself mean you are playing another visitor.
The waiting period can change with operational settings. If your goal is a match with a particular person, use a private room and confirm the room details together. The labels help keep computer and human matches distinguishable.
Rankings and connection problems
Rankings use online wins whose completion is confirmed by the server. Wins against people and automated opponents can follow different scoring rules. Do not compare local practice wins and online ranking as though they were the same record.
If you cannot enter a room, check your sign-in status, selected room, and private-room PIN first. After a disconnection, check the current room state rather than assuming the opponent’s match ended too or submitting the same result repeatedly. For a recurring problem, contact us with your device, browser, and the steps that led to it.
