Divide camping gear and check it together

Learn the difference between editing and sharing links, assign shared equipment, and confirm what is actually packed before departure.

Give shared equipment an owner

A packing list still fails if two people each assume the other will bring the stove. Start with a Camp template, remove items you do not need, and assign shared equipment such as the tent, stove, and lantern before checking anything off.

For example, assign the tent to Alex and the stove to Sam. Separate individual items such as sleeping bags by person. A list that says who is responsible makes the final check more useful than a list of equipment names alone.

Create the list and divide the load

Camp does not require an account. Lists and items are stored on the server so companions using the same sharing link can see packing status. This differs from PDF Fit, which processes document files inside the browser.

  1. Create a list from the relevant camping template and give the trip a distinct title.
  2. Remove unnecessary items, add missing gear, and assign shared equipment.
  3. Bookmark your editing link and send the sharing link to your companions.
  4. Check an item only after it is actually packed. Before leaving, review missing items by person.

An editing link grants different access

The editing link contains the token used to establish ownership. Anyone with that link can change the title, items, and assignees, so do not post it publicly. Ownership is not recovered through an account password.

The companion sharing link allows viewing the list and checking packed status. It does not allow changing the title, items, or assignees. Ask the list owner to make assignment changes in the editing view.

Allow time for updates and check the connection

Camp checks other people’s changes about every seven seconds. Two open screens may not change at the same instant. After checking an item, confirm the connection and allow the next refresh on the other screen.

Offline synchronization is not provided. If reception at the campsite is weak, review the list before departure. Do not assume a check made during a connection error will save later: reconnect and inspect the actual saved state.

Keep important links and respect input limits

The current browser keeps up to ten recent lists. Clearing browser data or moving to another device may leave you unable to find the editing screen through that history. Save important editing links separately, and avoid putting private contact details or sensitive travel information in items.

A list supports up to 200 items. Titles and item names allow 60 characters, and assignee names allow 20. Use short, distinct labels. Regenerating a sharing link invalidates the previous link, so send the new address to every companion who needs access.
